The Den of Activity
Dens are places that have stood the test of time. As children, we ourselves loved nothing more than to make use of some gardening canes and a candlewick bedspread spread over the top! The dens we made were places of secrecy, where we could meet with our friends to dream our dreams away from prying adults. As adults ourselves, we continue to provide dens for the next generation, so they too can dream their own dreams and plan their futures. Dens are places of safety and somewhere children develop a sense of control, with the ability to make decisions on their own helping them grow in confidence and independence.

When dens blend in with nature, they become truly special, providing children with the perfect cover. Dens designed for outdoors, allow children to interact with the natural world around them. Whether they go in search of twigs and leaves to make a floor cushion or pebbles and stones to make a secret marker, having a den outside brings children closer to nature and the immediate environment in which they live.
Willow is a natural material which will helps to create areas of wild beauty. This fabulous range of willow panels, willow dens, willow huts, wigwams and teepee’s has been developed to enable children to establish their own mini woodland retreats, where they can explore and experiment within a natural setting. As children play within these willow dens, they are brought closer to nature and the world in which they live.
Our range of willow dens are a step up from the garden canes and candlewick bedspread we may have had as children. Yet the willow dens still have an open side, allowing children to venture out every now and then and to check there are no adults nearby listening in on the plots and schemes!

Willow dens provide a different play stimulus to anything else the children may enjoy. The physical activity they enjoy in the playground, or on the swings and roundabouts in the park is counter balanced by the peace and quiet children gain from inside a den. The den provides a place of solitude and peace yet can also be the hub of great invention where groups of friends conjure the next big breakthrough in science.
The willow dens and huts can be placed directly onto a soft surface such as grass, wood chippings or sand. Each piece is individually made using traditional weaving techniques so has its own unique character.
We also have a range of plastic willow dens for those looking for a slightly cheaper option.
Hand woven willow panels, hazel dens and willow huts are designed to create beautiful settings for outdoor play or nature areas. All of the willow panels in our range are hand woven onto metal frames for extra stability. All units are supplied flat packed with sturdy ties for simple assembly so there is no need for nails and screws.
Our willow den range provides a mixture of choice and diversity for children to create their own perfect hideaway. The range is as diverse as it is accommodating to every budget and space consideration.
