PSHE Resources for Schools & Nurseries

PSHE is such an important topic in schools because it provides children with an array of life skills.

Section 78 of the Education Act 2002 and the Academies Act 2010 states that schools must provide a ‘balanced and broadly-based curriculum’ which promotes ‘the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at the school and of society, and prepares pupils at the school for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life’.

PSHE education makes a major contribution to schools fulfilling this duty.

Why is PSHE important to children

  • raises awareness of themselves and others
  • develop social knowledge, skills and attributes
  • provides the tools to keep children healthy and safe
  • prepares children for life and work.

PSHE also builds self-esteem, resilience and empathy. Effective PSHE resources have many benefits including for example tackling barriers to learning, raising aspirations as well as improving the life chances of vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils.

Making Healthy Choices

If children feel good in themselves then they are better able to cope with the world around them. So teaching children to make healthy choices is important because they begin to understand the value of healthy eating and exercise. The range includes jigsaw puzzles, play mats, lifecycle product boards and grocery sets.

Emotions

Some children struggle opening up about their feelings and emotions. It can be a difficult task. Our PSHE resources for schools include an extended range of emotion cushions which are great because children use them to express how they feel. The cushions specifically allow children to discuss emotions in a fun, relaxed and non-invasive way.

Emotions products include outdoor school playground signage, puzzles, face masks and even puppets. A diverse product range allows children to help understanding their own feelings and consequently appreciate the feelings of others. They can also help bridge geographical and racial divides because they teach children that people the world over are just the same on the inside.
