Playing in a pretend play kitchen is a fun and engaging way for children to learn basic life skills, use communication and language to describe their actions, name shapes, colours, everyday objects and practice counting through imaginative role play. Pretending to cook, clean, wash and iron also helps them to develop fine motor skills and hand-eye co-ordination.

Pretend white goods, kitchen fittings, cupboards and accessories vary between models, but a complete kitchen with all mod cons can include: cooker, washing machine, hob, sink unit with mixer tap, microwave, fridge and storage cupboards. If you’re spoilt for choice and simply can’t decide which module to choose, you might want to consider the Stamford Kitchen – Offer Set 5 which comes with cooker, washing machine, sink, fridge and a free microwave.

The sturdy Wolds range of play kitchens are designed specifically for educational settings with toddlers and young children in mind (2-6 years). Toddlers can busy themselves in their very own Wolds Toddler Kitchen – Set of 4. The bright colourful doors and knobs on the washing machine, sink unit, cooker and fridge will help little ones with colour recognition and name association. For confined spaces the Wolds Complete Toddler Kitchen may be a more practical option. It’s a self-contained unit featuring a sink with mixer tap, hob and pretend cooker and washing machine.
