Children love playing outside. There is something quite exhilarating about being in the fresh air, running across the playground or over the playing fields, free from the confines of the classroom. Yet as well as being fun in its own right, the great outdoors can itself become a place of learning. We have a wonderful array of outdoor classroom resources to enrich the learning experience and designed for outside use to provide children with stimulating, educational, outdoor fun. As spring turns to summer what better time to consider revamping your outdoor classroom with some of these engaging and colourful outdoor classroom resources.
Outdoor Play Mats
Our range of brightly coloured outdoor play mats and quilted mats provide the perfect seating for children whilst they are seated for outdoor study. The large quilted square mat is even large enough to seat the whole class and is lightweight, showerproof and wipe clean! Some of the outdoor mats are educational in their own right, such as the Chloe Caterpillar Literacy and Numeracy Outdoor Play Mat which has been has been designed to encourage learning through interaction and play.
Outdoor Play Panels
Outdoor play panels have long been a firm favourite. This range is hassle free as it can be left outdoors, is extremely easy to reconfigure to accommodate different group sizes and abilities, and has a great choice of styles including: blackboards, mirrors, easels, counters, windows and much more. Role play is vital for stimulating a child’s imagination. Through role play children gain both experience and understanding of how society works in the world in which they live. For example by pretending to be in a shop they learn about giving money in exchange for goods. This range allows a child’s creativity and imagination to soar. Outdoor Climbing Frames
Whilst the children are playing outside they can exercise and let off steam on one of our superb outdoor climbing frames. Our climbing frames are just a small part of our outdoor classroom resources and they come in a wonderful variety of shapes and sizes and there is one to suit every budget. As the children are having fun they are also developing their motor skills and the inspiration to play. Climbing frames are a must for any playground particularly now the children can expect to be outside more frequently.
Weaving Frames
For something a little less energetic why not brighten up the school or playground wall with one of our weaving frames. These weaving frames are great fun as the children can work their magic to create all manner of wondrous patterns and shapes. Weaving frames are perfect for honing hand to eye co-ordination and also dexterity skills.
Outdoor Signs
Staying in the playground we have recently introduced a superb range of outdoor signs. The range includes friendly “Welcome to our School” signage, playground nursery rhymes, learning boards, the weather, playground rules, height charts and even a penalty shoot-out game. All the outdoor signs are manufactured from heavy duty plastic, are weather and UV light resistant to eliminate fading and include fixings.
Sand and Water Play
No outdoor play would be complete without sand and water play. Children love playing with sand and water. Our sand and water trays come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colours and heights offering a wealth of choice for all educational establishments. We provide a wealth of accessories to compliment the range and many of our sand and water trays are mobile so they can easily be wheeled outside for outdoor fun.
